A rare, circa 1735 pirated edition of Herman Moll's map of the same title, published by George Grierson in Dublin. A Map of the East-Indies and the adjacent Countries; with the Settlements, Factories and Territories..., after the circa 1730 English edition by Hermann Moll, framed. The first large scale map of Southeast Asia published in Ireland, a rare edition showing an empty space above the cartouche where the coat of arms is typically present. The map shows the East Indies from the Persian border to New Guinea and the southern part of Japan, including India, Ceylon, Southeast Asia, large parts of China, Indonesia and the Philippines. Five insets showing major trading ports of Goa and Surat, Bantam, Fort St. George and Madras, and Batavia
