Hedda Morrison (1908–1991) was a German-born photographer known for documenting traditional life in China and Southeast Asia. She lived in Beijing from 1933 to 1946, capturing daily life and architecture before major political changes. Later, in Sarawak, Malaysia, she photographed Indigenous communities and their customs. Her notable works include A Photographer in Old Peking and Sarawak. Morrison’s photographs are valued for their cultural and historical insight and are housed in major institutions like the Harvard-Yenching Library and the National Library of Australia.Category
